Chair

Yesterday I got my self this vintage barber's chair:

NOT about to start producing meat for pies, strictly for tattooing purposes!

Etsy

I finally did it: got registered to Etsy.com!
I'm starting with my most popular AK-47 pendant but more stuff coming later on.

Go here and shop your asses off: http://www.etsy.com/shop/tuhonen

Crossbow project, part 1

While in Eastern Finland, I also started to make a crossbow. Here what I got done:

There's the general shape for the stock and raw-cut holes for the trigger mechanism.
To be continued, err, some time.

Easter Paganism

So, I spent Easter in the East, at my hometown. I also went to my family's summer cottage and took some pics of my primitive activities:

View from the beach over the Lake Saimaa. Other Lake shots at deviantART.

The Cottage, shot from the beach

Reindeer antlers on the wall of the Aitta. It's just decoration, there are no reindeers in the Southeastern Finland..

Oil lamp next to Herr Reindeer

Also dug out my old archery equipment! Had really good time with them.. I'm seriously thinking of starting to shoot again.

..and that cool violin case!

With arrow holders...

..and, err.. my newest toy..

Then I grilled some lamb chops. *drool*

After gnawing them to the bone I felt obliged to arrange them in a paganic fashion.

The Horsemen

Boring easter - family - mother's brand new PC with newer Photoshop:

Digital collage of Biblical measures!

The Four Horsemen from Book of Revelation: Famine, Death, Conquest and War. (Yeah, not in the right order but this _was_  just a quick one)

Paper texture from http://chillipaprika.com/?p=422
Cloudy sky from http://www.gigandet-fan.org/93.php?q=clouds-sky-blue
Everything else via Google image search - I'm too lazy to find links for all of them.

Plague Doctor Mask (pt.1)

While fooling around with gas masks and presenting them in deviantART, these plague masks came up.
I had only seen Venetian types, but when I saw these German leather masks I was sold.
Obviously they'd need to be made of proper boot leather to be really sturdy, but I couldn't afford such right now so I used this brown sheet I found from my leather stash (yeah, I have stashes like that for various stuff..)

Lenses are from mutilated gas mask (2nd from left in the first pic here , no idea what happened to it, I just hope nobody was wearing it at the moment), as is the buckle for the neck strap.
Once again, I was waaay too excited with this so no project photos.. neither did I draw patterns before sewing. Dammit.

While we're at sewing, I did it with hand sewing "machine" like this. Manual says it can be used to sew stitches for cows and horses as well! How practical!
*ahem*
I'll probably tidy up the seams a bit, maybe adding one more stitch all over.
Also, I'm about to stain the whole thing to give it a worn out, dirty look.

Some views of me wearing the thing:

As you can see, the leather's really too thin. Still, this is almost airtight; if fastened tight, the beak part gets sucked in on inhale and expands again on exhale like an airbladder.

Ok, more pics when I get this finished.

¡ Pupéteria de Flamenco !

Decided to try and make a digital "newspaper collage". This Flamenco marionette was just the first thing to pop to my mind.

Here's the fancy 30sec mouse-drawn sketch:

...and here's what we've got:

Primary newspaper texture from http://powerpuffjazz.deviantart.com/art/Old-Newspaper-Texture-130413322 , other parts from my visual archives.
